Apache-2.0, 8B, 47.7 on SWE-bench Verified — the size that fits where a 30B does not.
The 8B member of IBM's Granite 4.2 family, released 25 August 2026 under Apache 2.0. It scores 47.67 on SWE-bench Verified, which is the interesting number in the family: enough for scoped internal automation, from a model small enough to run where a 30B will not fit.
