A learning platform that also tracks skills

THRIVE is a workplace learning product that combines the administrative control of a learning management system with the peer-driven, self-directed approach of a learning experience platform. The vendor says more than 500 organisations use it, with 5 million users in over 60 countries, and presents it as one product for learning, knowledge, skills, mentoring and communication, replacing the separate tools many teams stitch together. Its message is that learning should change what people do, not only record that a course was completed.

Skills, mentoring and communities

The skills component maps skills to every role, exposes gaps and lets administrators build pathways that close them, an idea the vendor calls Agile Skills. Mentoring is included as standard: the system matches mentors and mentees automatically so that peer learning becomes part of staff development. Communities can be formed around roles, interests and teams, so that learning and communication stay in the same place instead of being spread over several apps.

Kiki, the built-in AI assistant

The platform includes an AI assistant called Kiki. According to the vendor it plays several roles.

Coach

It asks follow-up questions to check that a learner has understood, rather than just marking something complete.

Creator

Given a prompt or an uploaded file, it produces a finished course, quiz or interactive module.

Analyst

It reads dashboards and brings out findings on compliance, engagement and performance.

Administrator

It carries out admin from a one-sentence request, such as enrolling an office or archiving old content, and the vendor says it can save a team more than five days a month. It also searches content, connected systems and SCORM packages and returns a single answer.

Content and sectors

The vendor's in-house agency, Content Club, produces campaign-led content already mapped to learning pathways and fills content gaps for customers. An earlier catalogue held over 130 microlearning modules. Its pages address several fields with tailored messages: financial firms facing regulatory change, retail teams that cannot leave the shop floor for classroom training, hospitality staff from head office to restaurant, game studios keeping up with technology and trends, and government bodies tracking legislation across dispersed teams.
