As a public-law institution sponsored by the municipal umbrella organizations in Bavaria, it is part of the municipal family, supports municipalities in the use of information technology as the nationwide market leader, and is financed exclusively by sales from the sale of IT products and services. Customers and sponsors have a direct influence on business policy through the Board of Directors and the Annual General Meeting.
