Applause was founded in 2007 by Doron Reuveni based on a simple idea - one way that software testers can earn extra money by testing apps extensively. The company started under the name uTest and quickly became a popular provider for crowd testing.

The company's growth was driven by the explosive growth of websites, mobile apps, and other digital products. The company also made several acquisitions, including Apphance for our SDK Foundation and TestHub in Berlin, which became our European headquarters.

As our community expanded, so did the variety of software testing services that the community provides.
